Day 8: First Priority

I had stumbled across the First Priority prayer group on my first day of high school and it didn’t take long before I was involved in everything they did.  Next thing I knew, I was on the Leadership Team and we were planning our new year.

“Let’s do a Youth Rally!”

“A Youth Rally?”

“They’re never gonna let us do a Youth Rally here.”

“What if we held it off-campus.  Our church would let us do it there.”

A Youth Rally.  Our First Priority team was going to put on a Youth Rally; at a local church.  A Youth Rally by teenagers, for teenagers.

We had all decided that we wanted to take this on and now Katherine and I were at Brandon’s stuffing, sealing, and addressing envelopes to all of the area churches inviting them to join us.  We decided that we would hand deliver a few of them to both save on postage and give the personal touch to the leaders that we already knew.  I quickly volunteered to deliver one of them, knowing I wanted an excuse to go see that youth leader.  We had met just weeks ago when Megan and I stopped by to see my mom on the way to our Senior pictures, and I liked the idea of having a reason to go see him and not just my mom.

He wasn’t in the office that afternoon, but I learned later that he was asking my mom about it.

And me…
